Liberty Asia
Branding, type design, social media platformCreated as an intern at Isometric Studio in 2015
Liberty Asia is a Hong-Kong-based organization that works behind the scenes to prevent human trafficking through research, technological support for NGOs, legal advocacy, and banking regulation.
The branding challenge was to move beyond design that obfuscates or oversimplifies this complex problem. Rather than sensationalize the message through stock imagery, Andy and Nicole traveled to several countries in Asia to photograph the context in which trafficking takes place. The design introduces visual clarity and hierarchy to break the challenge down into clear components that can be better understood and addressed.
My main role in this project was creating the custom type for the logo and supplemental materials. Inspiration came from a disposable camera photo of stone typography, taken by a child that Andy and Nicole met during their trip.
