Installations
Silken Ceramics is a pottery studio in Seattle offering classes and memberships. I painted this mural above their pottery wheels to visualize the process from wedging clay to final glaze firing. The stacked design also reflects how working with clay requires being present with your body, centered, and balanced. The colors are inspired by clay and the studio branding, while the organic linework gives the mural a handmade feel.
Under the moniker, The Salvage Yard, I co-lead two projects that were temporary installed at the Fisher Pavillion in Seattle, WA and Burning Man in Black Rock City, NV. Putting my time and creative energy into these intensive projects is how I give back.
2023
We built a whimsical solar-powered dining gazebo out of salvaged and vintage materials. Temporarily installed in Black Rock City and Seattle.
2024
We increased the scale of our prior gazebo, changed the interior decor, and installed four lampposts with benches. Temporarily installed in Black Rock City. Awarded an Honoraria Grant from the Burning Man Org.
2025 - Coming soon
This year we're building three cup-themed little libraries spread throughout the city to gift ~700 drinking vessels, making many by hand in Seattle pottery studios.
